7TH JKA ASIA OCEANIA CONFERENCE
HELD IN BANGKOK, THAILAND
15-17 DECEMBER, 2007
JKA Thailand played host once again to the delegates from all countries in the Asia Oceania Region for JKA. Members attending the 7th Annual Conference met and discussed issues relating to JKA within the region and internationally. An election took place for an International Director on the JKA International Board of Directors to represent the Asia Oceania Region, along with Tanaka Sensei, as a vacancy had arisen with Ueki Sensei becoming the new International Director for China. John Russo, Chairman of JKA Australia, was elected to fill this vacancy. Mr Russo said, "It is indeed an honour and privilege to be elected into this position, and I will endeavour to be a Director worthy of the position." The meeting also discussed having a regional tournament in Thailand in late 2008, with each country in the region invited to submit a mens and womens team for the competition. Discussion was also held regarding the World Cup 2009, with dates to be finalised in the New Year.
