The Japan Karate Association of Australia (JKA) Pty Ltd welcomes all members and visitors to our  website.

JKAA was established in Australia in 1972, under the leadership of Chief Instructor Shunsuke Takahashi, OAM, 8th Dan, from the JKA Instructor's School in Tokyo, Japan. Shihan's dedication and unfailing committment to our Association has seen him continue to travel to Australia twice yearly for the past 34 years to train and grade our Instructors and students in this traditional martial art.

JKA Australia provides all members with quality instruction from qualified instructors and opportunity to be a part of the world's largest and most prestigious traditional karate organization.  You will also discover the many benefits of being a part of JKAA, including developing superb fitness levels,  coordination skills,  improving self confidence,  discipline and respect, as well as many health benefits. With JKA you also have the opportunity to participate at local, state, national and international levels,  JKA Karate is currently practiced in 116 countries worldwide, and members will feel secure in knowing their ranking is recognised internationally.

JKA Australia was most honoured and excited to have been requested by the JKA on behalf of the Japanese Ministry to host the Funakoshi Gichin Cup 10th World Karate-Do Championships in 2006.  This event was a great success.  Full results are available on this web page.
