The Japan Karate Association of Australia (JKA) Pty Ltd welcomes all members and visitors to our website.
JKAA was established in Australia in 1972, under the leadership of Chief Instructor Shunsuke Takahashi, OAM, 8th Dan, from the JKA Instructor's School in Tokyo, Japan. Shihan's dedication and unfailing committment to our Association has seen him continue to travel to Australia twice yearly for the past 34 years to train and grade our Instructors and students in this traditional martial art.
JKA Australia was most honoured and excited to have been requested by the JKA on behalf of the Japanese Ministry to host the Funakoshi Gichin Cup 10th World Karate-Do Championships in 2006. This event was a great success. Full results are available on this web page.
While you are on this site, please take the opportunity to explore all on this site about JKAA, learn our history and that of the JKA, our achievements, past and upcoming events, enjoy our extensive picture gallery and much more.
