JKAA POLICY REGARDING GRADINGS
GRADING POLICY FROM THE JAPAN KARATE ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA (JKA) PTY. LTD.
Members of Japan Karate Association of Australia (JKA) Pty Ltd are entitled to take KYU gradings 4 times per year.
Kyu Gradings in sequence should be one grading by the Club Instructor, then one by the Chief Instructor and so on until 1st Dan Grading and thereafter which must be conducted by the Chief Instructor.
Takahashi Shihan has indicated that it is no longer necessary for Club officials to place grading fees in separate envelopes when he visits each Dojo. One envelope is sufficient for all grading fees plus another with $150 training fee per Dojo. $US for any Dan grading fees are to be in separate envelopes and marked with the name of the person grading. All black belts are required to have the official green JKA passport. From now on members must pay to their Dojo $20AU for the green passport. All Dan grades should be filling in the relevant pages of these passports after attending State and National seminars and competitions and asking Shihan to stamp them at grading time in your Dojos as a record of your continued accreditation. Black belts requiring passports may acquire them from your State representative or Sensei John Russo jrusso@jkaa.com.au
